Social Netball Competitions | Box Hill Indoor Sports

Netball

Social Netball action is fast and furious for everyone at Box Hill Action Indoor Sports, and is a great social sport to catch up with friends on a weekly basis.

The key to the success of the 5-a-side and 7-a-side indoor versions of Australia’s biggest participation sport is the net around the court which keeps the ball in play at all times to ensure a fast, aerobic workout for all players.

Now we have added an exciting adaptation of the game – Super 6s!

ACTION 7s SOCIAL NETBALL

Combining all the basic rules and skills of the traditional game with modifications designed to get everybody involved.  With the nets in play and non stop rebound action, it is a great game for anyone looking to improve their fitness in a fun and exciting team environment.

Competitions are available for Ladies, Mixed and Mums divisions in 7-a-side for teams of all standards – novice, social or competitive. See our Sports Timetable for scheduling and pricing details, download an Indoor Netball Rules Summary and nominate your team now or make an enquiry if you require further information.

All versions of Action Social Netball include some unique rules including being able to shoot 2 point goals from outside the goal circle.

SUPER 6s NETBALL

NEW RULES – NEW GAME

NETBALL LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN IT

40 minutes of fast, tactical, intense game time.

6-A-SIDE Netball has just arrived at Box Hill Indoor Sports. With huge popularity in New Zealand, this game is unique:
– 6 players per team
– 3 uncomplicated positions – 2 x A, 2 x C, 2 x D
– Centres can shoot for 2 pointers
– Different playing zones

With non stop rebound action in nets, and the requirement of having to find one less player every week, Super 6s Netball might be the most popular competition moving forward!  The rules of Super 6s Netball can be viewed here

FAST 5s – JUNIOR NETBALL

This is for teams from Under 10 to Under 18 level, with teams consisting of 5 players plus substitutes. A new and exciting version of the game, 5-a-side Netball at Box Hill Indoor Sports is similar to the format recently seen in the Fast 5 Netball World Series. Unique rules include:

  • No Wing Attack (WA) or Wing Defence (WD)
  • Goal Attack (GA) and Goal Shooter (GS) can shoot from outside the goal circle for a 2 point goal
  • Centre (C) can also shoot from outside the goal circle for a 2 point goal
  • A ‘Power Play’ quarter whereby goals scored by a team count as double

Competitions are available for players of all standards – novice, social or competitive. Nominate your team now or make an enquiry if you require further information.

We will be conducting practice games on the Friday nights leading up to the new season, which is an opportunity for new teams to trial the concept.

GETTING STARTED WITH SOCIAL NETBALL…

Action is all about enjoying yourselves socially. Here are some tips on getting a team together:

  • Don’t necessarily try and gather an entire team before you register.
  • Get interest from 3 or 4 friends & nominate for a trial game, this sets a date to get started.
  • Encourage your friends to each recruit 1 or 2 of their friends for the trial game.
  • When you have played together under trial/beginner conditions you’ll soon discover how much fun it is and the only problem you’ll have is cutting back the numbers.
